Background:

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects some 18 million Americans. Of these, approximately eight million suffer from medium to severe OSA. Industry estimates suggest that only 15% of those affected with OSA have been diagnosed. Sleep Well Centers (SWC) has established a series of sleep testing facilities in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio to serve patients that either have not yet been diagnosed or are underserved by existing labs.

Further industry research suggests that there are approximately 3,000 sleep labs in the U.S. today— each with an average patient backlog of four to eight weeks. Test results are often delayed.
